RashiDIYa is a Dubai Metro station on the Red Line. Located between the Al Rashidiya and Mirdif City Centre, it is serviced by the Dubai Tram. It is the seventh busiest station in the entire metro system. The station is near the intersection of Airport Road (E11) and Al Rebat Street (D85/E311) and directly serves Emirates Aviation University, Rashidiya community and Gardens Shopping Mall.
Rashidiya station is divided into two levels. The top level is dedicated to Metro Lines and the bottom one is for the Dubai Tram. On the ground level, there are elevators and stairs from both entrances to the lower level, for passengers in wheelchairs or with reduced mobility. On the upper level, the station is connected to an underground pedestrian tunnel, as well as to an above-ground pedestrian bridge to Emirates Aviation University.
The station has several facilities, including ticket machines, restrooms, an information desk, ATM machines, and shops for food and beverages, as well as free Wi-Fi. Additionally, there is a City of Humanitarian Services' (CHS) station at Rashidiya, which provides passengers free medical, legal and psychological assistance.
Rashidiya station is part of the 5.9 km "Dubai Metro Red Line Extension", which was opened in June 2020. The extension connects the Rashidiya Red Line station to the existing Dubai Metro Red Line network, providing direct access to UAE Exchange, Rashidiya, Al Qusais, Al Nahda, Etisalat and others.
This station is an important transportation hub for visitors and residents in the UAE, providing easy access to key local and international destinations. With the new extension, travelling between the two Red Lines on Metro takes only 5 minutes.
It is no wonder why this station is considered amongst the most important ones in the entire Dubai Metro system. Its significance for the nation and for passengers in the UAE is immense and beyond words. Given the ever-growing population in the UAE, it is evident that the Government of the UAE has invested in infrastructures like Rashidiya Metro station. The station is a testament to the ever-improving transportation system in the country, and a symbol of the modern UAE.
