Pros & Cons Of Living In Dubai

Living in Dubai has long been promoted as an alluring city offering residents the best of modern living in the Middle East. With world-class infrastructure and some of the friendliest citizens, plenty of people decide to move to Dubai for work and lifestyle. But before making that move, it is important to consider both the pros and cons of life here.

Pros

One of the main benefits of living in Dubai is the high level of infrastructure it offers. The city is home to the world’s tallest building, tallest hotel, and even the world’s first underwater hotel. With some of the best roads in the world, excellent transport links, and around 4,000 shopping outlets, Dubai has everything a person could wish for. Additionally, the UAE government often invests heavily in health care, education, and the environment, providing families with a host of options to choose from.

Safety is another huge draw for those considering Dubai. The UAE has a very low crime rate, meaning residents can feel safe walking around the city at night. Additionally, Dubai is home to some of the best hospitals in the world, with a variety of treatment options and world-class medical staff.

Cons

Unfortunately, with all the pros of living in Dubai, there are some cons too. Unfortunately, the city has one of the highest costs of living in the world. Especially for expats, it can be difficult to keep up with the high cost of living. With the UAE dirham being roughly equal to the US dollar, prices for basic items like groceries can be very expensive compared to countries with cheaper currencies.

Additionally, many expats find it difficult to obtain visas in Dubai. The process can be time-consuming, and unless you have a job that pays well, you may struggle to secure a visa. Other cons include the issue of rising rent prices and the fact that the city can get quite crowded during the summer months.

Overall, those considering a move to Dubai should consider both the pros and the cons before making that big decision. Dubai certainly has a lot to offer, but the high cost of living and other issues should be taken into account.
