The city of Dubai is known around the world for its spectacular skyline, and it houses some of the tallest buildings in the world. Examples include the world-famous Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest building, which stands at 829.8 meters tall, as well as the Burj Al Arab which measures 321 meters.
As the city continues to grow, so too have its buildings, with a number of new structures aiming to take the title of tallest building in Dubai and the world. The most recent of these is the Dubai Creek Tower, which is currently under construction and is set to be the world's tallest free-standing structure upon its completion in 2022, measuring an astounding 928 meters tall.
Just as impressive is the Dubai Frame, located in Zabeel Park in the city. Completed in 2018, the 129-meter-tall steel frame acts as both a monument and observation deck, with its two 150-meter towers providing stunning views of the city's rapidly growing skyline.
Other notable structures in Dubai include the Cayan Tower, a 75-story, 310-meter skyscraper located in the Marina Development; the Princess Tower, also located in the Marina, which stands 411 meters tall; and the JW MarrIoTt Marquis, a 355-meter, 82-story hotel located in the business Bay district.
Emporis reports that there are currently 153 buildings in Dubai higher than 150 meters in height, with a further 37 others planned or under construction. At this rate, it's very likely that Dubai will continue to have some of the tallest buildings in the world, and they will be a continued source of international attention and admiration.
