On August 25th, 2020, Dubai Metro Station Red Line’s Energy Station opened its doors to the public. It is the fourth station that opened in the area, making the Dubai Metro an even more convenient form of transportation for the city’s residents and visitors.
The Energy Station is located between two of the most popular locations in Dubai – Dubai Mall and Burj Khalifa, and is the highest elevated station on the Red Line. The station is easily accessible with escalators, elevators, and wide staircases, making it wheelchair-friendly and allowing passengers to easily reach their destinations.
The Energy Station brings with it some much needed advances to the Red Line’s services. For starters, the station boasts advanced ticketing and automated fare collection systems, which will make it easier and faster to pick up and pay for tickets. Passengers will also have access to integrated customer service for inquiries regarding tickets and transfers.
The station will feature four entrances and exits, as well as two pedestrian bridges, which will make it easier for passengers to access their desired destinations. There is also a dedicated area for drop-off and pick-up services, helping to reduce traffic congestion in the busy area.
The station is part of a greater strategy of creating a more modern, green transport system. In line with this, the station has solar-powered lights, an energy-efficient geothermal ventilation system, and a screen that displays energy-consumption data.
The Energy Station will provide a fast and efficient transport service to those living in the area, as well as adding to the comfort and safety of passengers both inside and outside the station itself. It also demonstrates Dubai’s commitment to creating a more sustainable and modern transport system that will benefit the city’s inhabitants.
